Los Angeles Dodgers aquire Yu Darvish

The Los Angeles Dodgers have struck a deal acquiring Rangers Ace Yu Darvish just 4 days after the Rangers announced they were going to trade him for good. The Texas Rangers acquire prospects Willie Calhoun, A.J Alexy and Brendon Davis. Calhoun is ranked number 69 on MLB’s top prospect list showing great potential only at age 22. Darvish is 30 having a down year this season with a record of 6-9 and an era of 4.01. Darvish had a 5-year career with the Rangers and getting them to the Division Series for the last 2 years.

How Each Player Will Impact there New Team?

Texas Rangers: The Rangers have boosted their farm system acquiring number 69 prospect Willie Calhoun. Calhoun is hitting 23 homeruns with 67 RBIs in his first season in AAA. A.J Alexy is 19 pitching decent in single A he has an era of 3.67 in 19 games started with a record of 2-6. Brendon Davis is a 19 year old shortstop who has not been playing well of late in the minors he is hitting with a 245 average in 86 games with 9 homeruns and 43 RBIs. The Only Standout player acquired was Willie Calhoun who could be called up soon in Texas.

LA Dodgers: The Los Angeles Dodgers in my eyes acquired an ace pitcher he isn’t pitching like one but maybe he turns his game around in La. The Dodgers have also aquired Tony Watson today Helping their bullpen. One struggle in La was the starters Kershaw is having an amazing season but who knows how long he’ll be hurt for Wood is having a very nice season for La but who knows how he will be in the second half of the season. Rich Hill is having a good season with an era of 3.84 so now you add Darvish and you have great starters if Kershaw is healthy in the postseason your rotation will be Kershaw for game one and Darvish backing him up for game two. The Dodgers will look to add to their 74 win season and are looking like favorites to go all the way in October.

The Dodgers were already serious playoff contenders since they have the best record in baseball. After adding Yu Darvish, they become the most likely to represent the National League in the Fall Classic.
